The Foundational Vision of Our Sanctuary
The genesis of our community dates back to 2014, when Mike and Tori Reardon met during Mike’s military service—a meeting that ignited a shared life consecrated to the service of others. Over the intervening years, they have devoted themselves to various ministries, from stewarding children’s programs and youth outreach to leading congregations in worship. Today, Mike utilizes his professional background in mental health to facilitate healing for families, while Tori manages clinical oncological research trials. Together, they are raising their two children in Hernando County, instructing them in the grace and light of Christ Jesus.
In the final months of 2025, Mike and Tori discerned a divine calling to embark upon a new chapter. They envisioned a spiritual home that would serve as a profound beacon of hope—an organization destined to become a non-profit dedicated to outreach and recovery for those encountering addiction, homelessness, and the complexities of the foster care system. Faithful to the promise in Matthew 17:20, we believe that faith, even as small as a mustard seed, possesses the strength to move mountains. This humble beginning in their home constitutes the first step toward a future where every individual life is transformed within the Kingdom of God.
Why The Haven Church?
We maintain the conviction that the Church must be more than a mere destination for the faithful; it must be a community that proactively seeks out the lost. Our mission is not to wait for the world to come to us, but to carry the message of hope directly to our neighbors—whether at local beaches, nursing facilities, support centers, or wherever God calls us and our congregation to go out to reach the lost. Through intentional discipleship and outreach, we walk alongside our community to break cycles of despair, restoring the hope that regenerates the human spirit and brings people into a closer relationship with their Heavenly Father.
The Haven was established as a sanctuary where the broken find restoration and the weary receive renewed strength through the power that comes from knowing Jesus and accepting Him as Lord and Savior. We are rooted in the biblical belief that every individual is worthy of a path to dignity and divine purpose; we strive to remain a steadfast light for those navigating life’s most difficult transitions and helping them turn to God in every situation. Regardless of where you find yourself on your journey, you will perpetually find a safe harbor here at The Haven Church.
