Our Story

Our Mission Statement as a church in Hernando:

Our mission is to glorify God through worship, discipleship, and outreach to make His name known. We seek to restore hope, dignity, and purpose by supporting individuals on their journey of recovery and by actively reaching into our community with compassion, practical help, and unwavering commitment to transformation.

At The Haven Church, we believe in the transformative power of The Word of God through worship and community. Our outreach efforts are designed to restore purpose to those on recovery journeys, creating a space where faith and fellowship become the bedrock of a new life.

"And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose." Romans 12:28

Beliefs about God

We believe in one God who exists in three distinct persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. Each person of the Trinity is fully and equally God, sharing the same divine essence. The Father is the creator and sustainer of all things. The Trinity is central to our faith and reveals the deeply relational nature of God.

 Isaiah 40:28, Revelation 21:6, Romans 8:28

Beliefs about Salvation through Christ Jesus

Jesus Christ, the Son of God, is both fully divine and fully human. He lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, and rose again on the third day, defeating sin and death. Through His sacrifice, all who believe in Him and follow Him receive forgiveness, redemption, and the gift of eternal life.

John 3:16, John 1:14, Luke 19:10, John 14:6

Beliefs about the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Trinity, co-equal with the Father and the Son. He empowers believers for service and spiritual growth. He guides and teaches us, helping us understand God’s Word. The Holy Spirit convicts us of sin and leads us to repentance. He gives spiritual gifts for the building up of the Church. The Holy Spirit also assures us of our salvation and of God’s constant presence in our lives.

John 14:26, Isaiah 11:2, Acts 1:8, John 14:15-17

Beliefs about the Bible

The Bible is the inspired Word of God and the final authority for faith and practice. It is trustworthy, authoritative, and relevant for every area of life and morality. The Scriptures are historically reliable and speak truth across cultures and generations. Through the Bible, God reveals His character, His plan for humanity, and the way of salvation. Its teachings call us to personal transformation and spiritual growth. Scripture is meant to be studied and applied in community for deeper understanding.

2 Timothy 3:16-17, Hebrews 4:12, Psalm 19:7-11

Beliefs

Beliefs about The Church

The Church is a community of believers united in faith and purpose. It is a place of worship, fellowship, and spiritual growth. The Church is called to share the message of love and hope found in the Gospel and to serve the needs of both the local and global community. It is committed to teaching and upholding biblical truth, encouraging discipleship, and helping people grow in a personal relationship with God.

Matthew 16:18, Ephesians 2:20-22, Hebrews 10:24-25

Beliefs about People

Every person is created in the image of God and has inherent dignity and worth. All people are loved by God and invited into a relationship with Him. Humanity is fallen because of sin and in need of redemption through Jesus Christ. In Christ, there is hope for transformation and renewal through faith. Each person has unique gifts and a God-given purpose that contributes to the body of Christ. Compassion and love for others are central to the Christian life.

Isaiah 13:12,  1 John 4:7, John 13:34-35

Beliefs about Baptism

Baptism is a symbol of a believer being united with Jesus in His death, burial, and resurrection. It shows that the person’s old life is gone and they are raised to live a new life in Christ, as described by Paul in Romans 6:3–4.

Acts 2:38, 1 Peter 3:21, Mark 16:16

Beliefs about Communion

Communion is a symbol of a believer’s faith in Jesus’ saving work. The bread represents His body and the cup represents His blood, showing the new covenant He made through His sacrifice. In sharing this meal, believers remember Jesus’ last supper, proclaim His death until He returns, and express their unity as one community joined together in Christ.
1 Corinthians 11:23-26, Luke 22: 19-20, Acts 2:42
